When you think of Italy what comes to mind? History, art, culture, food, wine, romance? There are many words that we can use to describe our vision of this spectacular country. Until you actually experience Italy, what you envision may be different from your actual experience, in a positive way.
Many couples dream of spending their honeymoon in Italy yet never have the opportunity to experience it. If this is your dream, do whatever it takes to make it a reality. Follow your heart, your soul, and experience Italy as a couple, together for the first time.
Why do we think Italy is a perfect choice for honeymooners?
History and Culture
Italy has an abundance of historical sights in just about every city. From Florence, Rome, Naples, Venice and more! You will have the opportunity to learn and see more of Italy’s vast history and the rich culture they represent. How about a guided tour of the Vatican, St. Peter’s and the Sistine Chapel? Or a walking tour in Florence and then off to Accademia Gallery to see the original statue of David? See art from the famous Michelangelo, Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, and Raffaello.
Food and Wine
I have to say, Italians are known for delicious dishes, and an abundance of them. They are passionate about food and sharing it! Do you love wine? Italy has wine from virtually every region of the country. Try any to see which you like best, reds, whites, even sparkling wines. Visit a winery, attend a cooking class, or simply dine at some amazing restaurants with amazing views. You will definitely love the cuisine in Italy!
With an abundance of options, you can do as many as possible or just enjoy a simple leisurely stroll. From shopping, wine tasting, cooking class, museum and cathedral tours, walking/hiking, boating and scenic drives. Whatever fits your personalities, it can be accommodated.
Italy has 20 different regions. These would be equivalent to our states. Of course it may not be possible to visit them all in one trip, however, with amble time you could visit 2 or more and have time to explore, relax and enjoy each area of your itinerary. The most popular regions are Tuscany (which includes wine country and Florence), Veneto (which includes Venice), Lazio (which includes Rome), Campania (which includes the Amalfi Coast, Naples, Pompeii and Isle of Capri) and more. Having a customized itinerary will allow you to have the most flexibility.
Italy is one of the most well-known countries for romance. I’m not sure if it is the people, music, customs, or the simple fact that we have come to know Italy as “romantic”. A leisurely stroll down cobblestone streets, stopping at an outdoor cafe for Espresso or Gelato (in the summer). Driving along the Amalfi Coast, stopping at the small, quaint seaside towns along the way. Beach day and swimming in the Mediterranean Sea. A gondola ride through the canals of Venice. Daytime in Italy is great for exploring, but evenings are full of romance. The lighting, ambiance, old-world setting, Italian music, food and wine, makes for a relaxing, romantic experience.
These are just some of the reasons why we love Italy… What are your reasons?
